Job description
A dynamic and committed PE Teacher is required to deliver high-quality PE teaching, including GCSE PE and a range of sports coaching, for a leading Independent School in Oxford , starting January 2026 . • PE Teacher • Independent School • Oxford • January start • Full time • Experienced and ECT PE Teachers considered School Information This top-tier independent day and boarding school educates 1,200 pupils aged 11 to 18 and is known for its exceptional sporting heritage and outstanding academic record. The school boasts world-class sports facilities including a full-size sports hall, fitness suite, all-weather pitches, tennis courts, swimming facilities, and a modern performance analysis hub. The PE Department is one of the most active and celebrated areas of school life. Students excel in regional and national competitions across athletics, hockey, rugby, netball, cricket, and swimming. Academic PE results are also outstanding, with over 80% achieving grades 9–6 at GCSE and strong A-Level outcomes. Teachers benefit from a collaborative sports faculty, high-quality coaching resources, and extensive CPD opportunities through school partnerships with professional clubs and university sports programmes. Requirements Applications are encouraged from PE Teachers at any stage of their career, including ECTs. Applicants should hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Coaching qualifications are an advantage. Salary Paid to scale on the Independent School salary structure. Additional responsibility may be available for experienced candidates.
