Job description
Are you a friendly, organised, and professional individual looking to join a welcoming school community? An ‘Outstanding’ secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking a Receptionist to join their front-office team from February 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis. Role: Receptionist Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: February 2026 School Information This thriving 11–18 secondary school has a reputation for academic excellence and exceptional pastoral care. The Reception team plays a vital role as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, contributing to the school’s warm and professional atmosphere. Responsibilities • Greet and assist visitors, parents, and staff in a professional manner • Manage incoming calls and email correspondence • Maintain visitor logs and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed • Provide general administrative support to the office and leadership team • Assist with daily school operations and communication tasks Requirements • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and school database systems (training provided) • Previous reception or administrative experience preferred Salary: Paid to scale in line with school support staff pay grades Application If you’re a well-presented, approachable individual who thrives in a busy environment, please send your CV for immediate consideration.
