Job description
A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Basingstoke is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their premises team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment. • Caretaker – full-time, permanent • Secondary school in Basingstoke • ASAP start • Year-round position • Competitive support staff salary About the Role The Caretaker will support the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site, ensuring that buildings and grounds are well-maintained and safe for staff, pupils, and visitors. Key responsibilities include: • Opening and closing the school site • Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations • Setting up rooms for lessons, exams, and events • Monitoring site security and responding to alarms • Assisting with contractor supervision and deliveries The Ideal Candidate • Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities • Basic DIY and maintenance skills • Good understanding of health and safety procedures • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Reliable, punctual, and proactive • Commitment to safeguarding and site security About the School This Basingstoke secondary school prides itself on maintaining a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.
