About the School A thriving 11–18 school in Gloucester, serving approximately 1,200 pupils, is seeking a passionate and talented Art ECT to join their successful Visual Arts Department from January 2026. The school enjoys a “Good with Outstanding Features” Ofsted rating and boasts a Progress 8 score of +0.48. The Art Department plays a central role in the school’s culture, with annual exhibitions, collaborations with local galleries, and award-winning student projects. The department is equipped with spacious studios, digital design facilities, and specialist workspaces for ceramics, sculpture, and photography. About the Role The appointed teacher will teach Art & Design across KS3–KS5, guiding students through coursework and portfolio development for GCSE and A-Level. You will support creative exploration, helping students develop their technical skill and artistic identity. In addition to classroom teaching, you will have the opportunity to contribute to school-wide art initiatives, public exhibitions, and workshops with visiting artists. ECTs benefit from strong mentoring, regular feedback, and tailored professional development sessions. The department fosters a collaborative environment where creativity and experimentation are encouraged. Staff wellbeing and professional autonomy are key priorities, ensuring early-career teachers feel supported and valued.
