Job description
Are you an enthusiastic Biology Teacher with a passion for helping students explore the living world? A leading secondary school in Cheltenham, rated Ofsted Outstanding, is seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent post, offering an inspiring environment where Science and curiosity flourish side by side. The Role You will teach Biology across KS3–KS5, encouraging students to think critically, explore ideas, and apply scientific concepts in real-world contexts. Lessons focus on active learning — from genetics experiments to ecological investigations — supported by strong practical resources and fieldwork opportunities. You’ll work within a highly successful Science Faculty that collaborates on curriculum design, enrichment, and professional learning. Opportunities include leading eco-projects, science outreach programmes, and trips to conservation sites to expand students’ understanding of the natural world. The School This large 11–18 comprehensive serves 1,300 students, achieving results consistently above national averages. The school’s Science Faculty is a particular strength, with high uptake at A-Level and an outstanding record of university destinations in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, and Environmental Studies. Facilities include fully equipped biology labs, greenhouse facilities, and digital microscopes, supporting investigative learning.
