Job description
A well-established and high-performing secondary school in Derby is seeking an experienced and confident Senior School Office Manager to lead its front-office and administrative operations. This is a senior support role that plays a vital part in the smooth day-to-day running of the school and the delivery of a professional, welcoming service to students, staff and families. The Role Working closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and senior leadership team, you will oversee the organisation and management of the school office. This includes line-managing administrative staff, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring that systems relating to attendance, communication, admissions and general administration run efficiently and consistently. You will act as a key point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies, maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality at all times. The role requires strong leadership, organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment. The School This is a large, well-organised secondary school with a strong reputation for clear systems, positive behaviour and effective leadership. Leadership is visible and supportive, with clear expectations and a collaborative approach across teaching and non-teaching teams. The Team You will lead a dedicated and experienced administrative team, providing guidance, structure and day-to-day support. The school uses recognised MIS and administrative systems and maintains high standards of data accuracy and safeguarding compliance.
