Job description
Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher looking to make a positive impact in a supportive and nurturing primary school in Barking? The Role Start Date: September 2025 Location: Barking Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent The School This dynamic and well-established primary school in Barking is known for its caring and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum, helping students develop key skills in literacy, numeracy, and beyond. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued, confident, and excited to learn. Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their best. Use innovative and creative teaching strategies to make learning fun and accessible for all students. Work closely with colleagues to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery and share best practices. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them updated on student progress and address any concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities, school activities, and staff meetings to enhance your teaching practice. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, with a focus on Year 1 or similar primary experience. Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. A passion for working with young children and a commitment to creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. Ability to differentiate teaching and adapt to the individual needs of students.
