Job description
Are you an enthusiastic Reception Teacher seeking a Part-Time post from January 2026? A nurturing Good primary in Peterborough seeks a Reception Teacher to join the Early Years phase. The Reception Teacher will be involved in planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026 and teach from January 2026 as the Reception Teacher. This Part-Time Reception Teacher role suits practitioners wanting workload balance with sustained professional impact. *** Reception Teacher Peterborough *** Reception Teacher January 2026 start *** Reception Teacher Part-Time opportunity Role summary for the Reception Teacher The Reception Teacher will design play-based continuous provision, lead daily phonics and story sessions and plan early mathematics routines. The Reception Teacher will use assessment to personalise learning, lead family engagement workshops and support smooth transition to Year 1. The Reception Teacher will receive mentoring and CPD starting at induction in January 2026 and will teach from January 2026 as the Part-Time Reception Teacher. Reception Teacher — responsibilities • Lead systematic phonics, guided reading and language-rich sessions as the Reception Teacher. • Use observation-led assessment to inform planning as the Reception Teacher. • Coordinate with teaching assistants, run parent workshops and contribute to whole-school events as the Reception Teacher. • Develop outdoor learning provision and community outreach projects that the Reception Teacher will plan prior to January 2026 and deliver after January 2026. The Reception Teacher will attend pre-term meetings before January 2026, join induction in January 2026 and begin teaching from January 2026 in a Part-Time capacity as the Reception Teacher. Reception Teacher — candidate profile and development We are looking for a Reception Teacher with QTS/EYTS, strong early years pedagogy and excellent communication skills. The Reception Teacher should be prepared to lead aspects of EYFS development, contribute to assessment moderation and mentor support staff. From the induction in January 2026 the Reception Teacher will access coaching, peer observation and subject-specific training to extend practice across the school. Even as a Part-Time Reception Teacher, you will have access to leadership opportunities beginning after January 2026.
