Job description
An inclusive and supportive secondary school in Weymouth is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join its leadership team from April 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead SEND provision within a school that places inclusion, pupil wellbeing, and high aspirations at the centre of its ethos. The school has a strong commitment to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of need, are fully supported to achieve their potential within a nurturing and structured environment. The Role Leading and managing the school’s SEND provision across KS3 and KS4 Overseeing EHCPs, support plans, and statutory processes Coordinating interventions and monitoring pupil progress Line managing and supporting teaching assistants and support staff Working closely with parents, external agencies, and senior leaders Promoting inclusive teaching strategies across the school The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it) Proven experience working with pupils with SEND in a secondary setting Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice Excellent organisational and communication skills A compassionate, proactive, and solution-focused approach School Information This inclusive secondary school in Weymouth is known for its supportive leadership, positive pupil relationships, and commitment to high-quality pastoral care.
