Job description
Do you want to teach across Key Stage 2 in a close-knit Independent School in Southwark from January 2026? This Independent School seeks a versatile and enthusiastic KS2 Teacher to join the phase on a Full-Time basis. The KS2 Teacher will take part in pre-term planning prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the KS2 Teacher. The Independent School’s ethos prizes curiosity, depth of subject knowledge and pastoral warmth — perfect for a KS2 Teacher who wants to contribute to a distinctive, well-resourced primary curriculum. A typical week for the KS2 Teacher Mornings: the KS2 Teacher leads high-quality literacy and mathematics lessons that focus on retrieval, reasoning and vocabulary development. Afternoons: the KS2 Teacher delivers foundation subjects through project work and practical enquiry, designing sequences that build cumulative knowledge. The KS2 Teacher runs small-group interventions, contributes to assessment cycles and leads enrichment activities — all responsibilities that start to be shaped in the planning before January 2026 and will be enacted after the January 2026 start. Why this Independent School? The Independent School invests in staff development: the KS2 Teacher will receive regular coaching, opportunities for peer observation and access to a development budget from January 2026. Small classes enable the KS2 Teacher to personalise learning and to build strong relationships with pupils and families. The Independent School encourages teachers to trial research-informed practice and to share successful approaches across the phase. KS2 Teacher — candidate profile We are looking for a KS2 Teacher with QTS, adaptable subject knowledge across KS2 and a track record of strong classroom outcomes. The KS2 Teacher should be collaborative, reflective and ready to plan before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as a Full-Time KS2 Teacher. To be considered for this KS2 Teacher position, please forward an up-to-date version of your CV.
