Job description
A well-regarded secondary school in Lincoln is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their premises team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent role responsible for maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment. • Caretaker – full-time, permanent • Secondary school in Lincoln • ASAP start • Year-round position • Competitive support staff salary About the Role The Caretaker will support the smooth day-to-day running of the school site, ensuring that buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will play a key role in safeguarding the premises and supporting operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include: • Opening and closing the school site • Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations • Setting up rooms for lessons, exams and events • Monitoring site security and responding to alarms • Assisting with contractor supervision and deliveries The role requires flexibility, practical skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. The Ideal Candidate • Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities • Basic DIY and maintenance skills • Good understanding of health and safety procedures • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Reliable, punctual and proactive • Commitment to safeguarding and site security About the School This Lincoln secondary school prides itself on maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
