Job description
Are you a warm, enthusiastic early years teacher who loves supporting children as they begin school? Do you enjoy creating exciting, play-based learning that develops confidence and the basics of reading, writing and number? If so, join our community. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Reception Class Teacher to join our inclusive and high-achieving primary school in Nottingham from January 2026. This is a permanent position, open to full-time and part-time applicants, with potential for TLR for the right candidate. About the School Located in Nottingham, our school provides a rich Reception experience with strong links to families and community. We value curiosity, communication and early independence and support staff through focused CPD and collegial teamwork. The Role Position: Reception Class Teacher Location: Nottingham Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered TLR: Available for Subject or Phase Leadership (for the right candidate) As our Reception Teacher, you will: Create a welcoming, stimulating classroom where children explore through play and structured activities. Teach early reading (phonics), number sense, communication and physical development. Observe and assess children to plan tailored next steps and early interventions. Build strong relationships with families to support children’s learning and wellbeing. Maintain high expectations for behaviour and progress within a nurturing environment. (If applicable) Lead aspects of the Early Years provision as part of a TLR. What We’re Looking For We welcome applicants who: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Have strong experience in Reception/EYFS practice. Know how to deliver effective phonics and early maths teaching. Are excellent communicators and team players. Demonstrate patience, creativity and commitment to inclusion. Are willing to take on leadership responsibilities if seeking a TLR. What the School Offers A supportive EYFS team and friendly pupils.
