Job description
Attendance Officer – Co-Educational Secondary School in Sutton (January Start) Location: Sutton Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive (school scale) A thriving co-educational secondary school in Sutton is seeking a highly organised and motivated Attendance Officer to join their pastoral and administration team from January. About the School The school is well-regarded locally for its strong safeguarding culture, high expectations, and excellent student support systems. Staff benefit from a positive working environment, collaborative teams, and ongoing training opportunities. Key Responsibilities Monitor daily attendance and punctuality for all students. Make first-day absence calls and follow-up communication with parents/carers. Maintain accurate attendance records using the school’s MIS system. Support pastoral leaders in implementing attendance strategies and interventions. Work closely with safeguarding staff and external professionals where required. Requirements Previous school-based attendance or administration experience (desirable). Strong ICT and data-handling skills. Excellent communication, accuracy, and organisational abilities.
