Job description
A large, well-regarded 11–18 school in Derbyshire is seeking a passionate Teacher of Geography to join its high-performing Humanities department from January 2026. The school has been rated Good by Ofsted and is widely recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong academic results and excellent behaviour. It combines traditional values with a modern approach to learning, where teachers are empowered to innovate and students are encouraged to take ownership of their progress. The Department The Geography team is a close-knit, enthusiastic group of teachers who share resources and ideas freely. Lessons are taught in a dedicated Humanities building with modern classrooms, interactive displays and access to a shared resource hub. Fieldwork plays a central role, with trips ranging from local environmental studies to international expeditions. The curriculum is knowledge-rich yet enquiry-based, encouraging students to explore issues like sustainability, globalisation and climate resilience. Students achieve excellent results, and Geography is one of the most popular A-Level subjects in the Sixth Form.
