Job description
History ECT required on a full-time basis Mixed secondary school based in Braintree History ECT to join a reflective and well-supported Humanities faculty Our Client is looking for a History ECT to join a successful secondary school in Braintree from January 2026. The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4 History, supported by a highly experienced Humanities team. School Information This 11–18 school serves around 1,200 pupils and has a strong local reputation for academic consistency, calm classrooms and well-structured systems. The History department benefits from shared resources, digital archives, enquiry-based schemes of work and strong GCSE uptake. The school provides an enhanced ECT induction package including reduced teaching time, weekly mentoring, structured feedback cycles and protected CPD time. Staff describe the leadership as approachable, supportive and invested in long-term staff progression. Behaviour is consistent and well managed, allowing ECTs to focus fully on classroom practice.
