Job description
Finance Officer required January 2026 Good mixed secondary school based in Newham Finance Officer to support a growing and busy finance function Our Client is seeking a Finance Officer to join a thriving secondary school situated in the Newham area. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day finance operations including processing invoices, preparing payment runs, supporting payroll tasks, reconciling accounts, and assisting with budget monitoring. This is a role suited to an organised individual with strong communication skills and a high level of accuracy. School Information This 11–18 comprehensive school educates roughly 1,550 pupils and continues to grow in size each academic year due to its strong reputation and high number of applications. The school places great importance on maintaining robust financial systems, ensuring transparency, and supporting strategic planning for future development projects. They recently completed a refurbishment programme which has expanded student facilities, requiring a finance team that can manage a more complex operational budget. The administrative team describes the working environment as structured, efficient, and cooperative, with excellent support from senior leadership. The finance department benefits from regular updates to systems, administrative training, and strong communication channels between finance, HR, estates, and curriculum leads.
