Job description
Are you a passionate and inspiring Physics Teacher with a desire to ignite a love of science in young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Physics to join our high-achieving department in a prestigious grammar school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025. About the School: Our school is a selective grammar school with a long tradition of academic excellence. We provide a challenging and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to strive for their full potential. We have a strong focus on STEM subjects and offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities to inspire students' passion for Physics and other sciences. About the Physics Department: The Physics department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to providing students with a high-quality education in this fascinating subject. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from classical mechanics to quantum physics. We encourage students to develop their practical skills through experiments and investigations, and we provide access to state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment. About the Role: Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Physics depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, experiments, and ICT, to bring Physics to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Physics curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Physics in students, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the universe and develop their scientific understanding. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Physics education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Physics . Demonstrates a passion for teaching Physics and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics . Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
