Job description
A well-established and ambitious secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a passionate, energetic, and experienced PE Teacher to join their successful Physical Education department. This is a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are committed to inspiring students through sport and physical activity. About the Role As a PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially KS5, fostering a love of physical activity, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles. You will plan lessons that develop practical skills, understanding of fitness principles, and competitive abilities while accommodating students of varying abilities and interests. The role also includes preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Physical Education examinations, leading extracurricular sports clubs, supporting inter-school competitions, and promoting inclusive participation across all student groups. Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality PE lessons across KS3/4 (KS5 optional) • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations in Physical Education • Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging and inclusive PE schemes of work • Promote student participation in school teams, clubs, and competitions • Assess, monitor, and track student progress in line with curriculum objectives • Contribute to departmental development and enrichment activities • Maintain a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment About the School This Nottingham secondary school is recognised for strong academic performance, excellent pastoral care, and a thriving extracurricular programme. The PE department is well-resourced, with modern sports facilities including a gymnasium, playing fields, and specialist equipment for a variety of sports. Experience and Qualifications • Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field • QTS or PGCE • Experience teaching PE in secondary education (ECTs welcome) • Strong classroom management, motivational, and organisational skills • Commitment to promoting student participation in sport and physical activity Salary MPS/UPS (dependent on experience).
