Job description
An established primary in Richmond is seeking a skilled School Business Manager to join the leadership team from January 2026. The School Business Manager will manage the budget, oversee payroll and pensions, lead procurement and supervise premises and health & safety matters. This School Business Manager role in Richmond will be instrumental in delivering efficient systems and ensuring compliance; the School Business Manager will take part in a handover and induction before January 2026 and will commence full duties from January 2026. • School Business Manager required for a senior operational role • School Business Manager required to work within a well-resourced primary school in Richmond • School Business Manager to oversee finance, administration and premises operations The School Business Manager will prepare management accounts, advise governors, manage contracts and support capital/maintenance programmes. In Richmond, the School Business Manager will work with a collaborative senior team and will have scope to shape long-term financial planning and premises strategy. School information • High-quality primary school situated in Richmond with strong community involvement. • Supportive leadership and clear operational systems for the School Business Manager. • Good CPD opportunities and a positive working culture across Richmond. Experience and qualifications Demonstrable experience in school business management or equivalent finance/operations leadership. Strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills and comfortable with accounting software. Practical understanding of premises management, H&S and contract management in a Richmond school. Able to start January 2026 and to attend induction and handover in the weeks prior to January 2026.
