Job description
Religious Studies Teacher required January 2026 Mixed secondary school based in Southend-on-Sea RS Teacher to join a thoughtful and well-supported Humanities team Our Client is seeking a Religious Studies Teacher to deliver KS3 and KS4 RS within a large and inclusive secondary school in Southend-on-Sea. The successful candidate will teach philosophy, world religions and ethics through a well-structured and enquiry-led curriculum. School Information This 11–18 secondary school educates approximately 1,400 pupils and demonstrates strong academic performance alongside excellent pastoral care. The RS department benefits from structured schemes of work, digital teaching platforms and strong cross-curricular links with PSHE and Citizenship education. Pupils engage positively with discussion-based learning and ethical debate. Staff describe the school as welcoming, inclusive and professionally supportive. Leadership prioritises staff communication, wellbeing and long-term career development. The school provides excellent support for curriculum innovation and enrichment provision.
