Job description
A well-regarded independent school in Reading is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join its successful Science department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a calm, academically focused environment where small class sizes support high-quality teaching and learning. Physics is a strong and respected subject within the school, with good uptake at GCSE and A Level and a clear emphasis on conceptual understanding and practical application. The Role Teaching Physics across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 expected Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons Supporting pupils with practical investigations and exam preparation Encouraging analytical thinking, mathematical application, and scientific enquiry Contributing to enrichment activities and wider school life Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced Science department The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification A degree in Physics or a closely related subject Experience teaching Physics at secondary level, including KS5 Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice High expectations for pupil engagement and academic progress A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach School Information This independent school in Reading is known for its strong academic standards, excellent pastoral care, and supportive leadership.
