Job description
A distinguished independent school in Bath is seeking a talented and inspiring Music Teacher to join their flourishing Performing Arts Department from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a school that places music and creativity at the heart of its ethos. About the Role The appointed teacher will teach Music from KS3 to KS5, preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations while nurturing performance confidence, creativity, and musical appreciation. They will also direct or accompany ensembles, choirs, or orchestras, depending on their specialism. The role offers the chance to lead concerts, musical productions, recitals, and tours, and to work closely with visiting professional musicians and peripatetic staff. Teachers are encouraged to integrate music technology and digital composition into their lessons, enhancing students’ creative portfolios. The Music Department features specialist rehearsal rooms, a soundproof recording studio, and a concert hall with professional acoustics. Teachers enjoy small classes, outstanding facilities, and significant creative freedom. Experience and Qualifications Degree in Music and QTS/PGCE or equivalent qualification . Strong background in performance, conducting, or composition. Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Music. Enthusiasm for extra-curricular music and collaborative projects.
