Job description
An outstanding secondary school in Newbury is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join its successful Science department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a high-performing environment where academic excellence and strong behaviour are firmly embedded. Chemistry is a well-established and respected subject within the school, with strong uptake at GCSE and A Level and consistently strong outcomes. The Role Teaching Chemistry across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons Supporting pupils with practical investigations and exam preparation Encouraging analytical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific enquiry Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced Science department Contributing to enrichment activities and wider school life The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject Experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach School Information This outstanding school in Newbury is recognised for its exceptional academic results, excellent pupil behaviour, and strong leadership.
