Job description
A well-established and busy secondary school in Manchester is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their premises team. This is a full-time, permanent position available for an immediate start, offering an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented learning environment. About the School The school serves a diverse and vibrant community and is known for its strong leadership, positive behaviour culture, and commitment to high standards. The premises team is central to the smooth running of the school, ensuring that facilities are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard for both students and staff. The site includes multiple teaching blocks, sports facilities, outdoor areas, and specialist classrooms. The leadership team values the contribution of support staff and fosters a respectful, team-oriented working environment. The Role As Caretaker, you will support the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school site. Key responsibilities include: • Opening and closing the school premises • Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks • Ensuring health and safety compliance across the site • Supporting with room setups for events and examinations • Monitoring site security and responding to alarms • Maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of external areas You will work closely with the Site Manager and wider premises team to ensure the school environment remains safe and welcoming.
