Job description
Are you passionate about economics and eager to inspire the next generation of economists? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Economics to join our high-achieving department in a prestigious grammar school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025. About the School: Our school is a selective grammar school with a long tradition of academic excellence. We provide a challenging and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to strive for their full potential. We have a strong focus on academic achievement and offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities to inspire students' passion for Economics and other social sciences. About the Economics Department: The Economics department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to providing students with a rigorous and engaging education in economic principles and analysis. We offer a stimulating curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from microeconomics and macroeconomics to international trade and development economics. We encourage students to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios through case studies, debates, and simulations. About the Role: Teach Economics across Key Stages 4 and 5, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 3 depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including case studies, debates, and simulations, to bring Economics to life for students. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Economics curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Economics in students, encouraging them to explore economic issues and develop their analytical skills. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Economics education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Economics . Demonstrates a passion for teaching Economics and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Economics . Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
