Job description
A forward-thinking independent 11–18 school in Somersetis seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their well-resourced Technology Department from January 2026. This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to teach in a school known for its emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence. The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across KS3–KS5, specialising in Product Design or Engineering. Lessons will combine creativity and practical skill, using CAD/CAM, 3D printing, and modern manufacturing tools. You will guide students through GCSE and A-Level projects and help them develop critical design-thinking skills that prepare them for higher education and industry. The DT Department is equipped with advanced technology including laser cutters, CNC routers, and digital fabrication tools. Teachers benefit from small class sizes, strong departmental support, and ongoing professional development. The school actively promotes creativity, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and sustainable design practice.
