Job description
A creative and community-focused secondary school in Shropshire is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher of Drama from January 2026. The school values the arts highly and offers Drama as part of a strong Creative Arts curriculum. ECTs are well supported and encouraged to bring fresh ideas to the department. The Role You will teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, delivering practical and theory-based lessons that develop confidence, collaboration and creativity. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers who provide strong guidance and mentoring. You will: Plan and deliver engaging practical lessons Develop behaviour management skills in performance spaces Support school productions and enrichment activities Reflect on practice with regular mentor feedback The School This Good school is known for its warm atmosphere, respectful students and strong community links. Leadership is supportive and values creativity alongside academic progress. ECT Support Reduced timetable and structured mentoring Regular CPD and peer observations Clear behaviour systems and strong pastoral support Encouragement to develop creatively and professionally This is an excellent first role for a Drama ECT who wants to grow in confidence and creativity within a supportive environment.
