The Music department is a well-resourced and collaborative team, dedicated to delivering engaging and inspiring lessons. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3-5, including GCSE and A-Level Music. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of musical styles, techniques, and technologies, including performance, composition, and music theory. Facilitate student-led performances, workshops, and concerts, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and practical application of skills. Assess student progress through performances, compositions, written analyses, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Music curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current industry trends and best practices in music education. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as school bands, choirs, orchestras, and participation in music festivals, to enhance student learning and provide performance opportunities. Collaborate with other departments, such as Performing Arts and Technology, to create interdisciplinary projects and performances. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Music, Music Education, or a related field. Extensive experience teaching Music to GCSE and A-Level, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and performance skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. A passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in young people through music. Proficiency in a range of musical instruments, music software, and recording technologies.
