Job description
Are you a dedicated and passionate KS2 teacher ready to inspire the next generation of learners? Are you looking to join a warm and forward-thinking independent school where creativity, academic excellence and pupil wellbeing go hand in hand? We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Year 5 Class Teacher to join a friendly, high-achieving independent primary school in Bexleyheath from January 2026. This is a permanent position, open to both full-time and part-time applicants, ideal for an experienced teacher or a strong ECT looking to flourish in a nurturing and enriching environment. The Role Position : Year 5 Class Teacher Location : Bexleyheath, Greater London Start Date : January 2026 Contract : Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time considered You will: Teach a small, well-behaved and eager Year 5 class Plan and deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum Deepen pupils’ knowledge and skills in preparation for Year 6 and beyond Promote independence, confidence and a love of learning Work collaboratively with a supportive staff team and communicate effectively with parents Participate fully in school life, including trips, events and extracurricular activities What We’re Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching in KS2 – ideally Year 5 or Upper Key Stage 2 A sound understanding of the KS2 curriculum and high expectations for all pupils Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills A warm, child-centred approach and ability to build strong relationships Strong teamwork and communication skills A commitment to continuous professional development and school involvement Personal Characteristics Infectious enthusiasm for teaching and learning Professional, friendly, and collaborative nature Reflective and committed to growing as an educator Willingness to contribute to wider school life and extracurricular activities What We Offer A thriving and supportive independent school community Small class sizes and outstanding pupil behaviour An experienced, dedicated and welcoming staff team Excellent CPD and career development opportunities Competitive salary paid to MPS or UPS, depending on experience Flexibility for full-time or part-time working A convenient Bexleyheath location with great public transport links How to Apply?
