Job description
SENCO – Outstanding School – Weymouth – September Start Location: Weymouth | Contract: Full-Time, Permanent | Salary: L1-L6 (depending on experience) A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join an outstanding secondary school in Weymouth. The school is well-regarded for its inclusive approach and exceptional support for students with additional needs. The role of SENCO is key in ensuring all students are provided with the best opportunities to succeed academically and personally. Your Role as SENCO: • Lead the SEN department and manage a team of dedicated teaching assistants and support staff. • Oversee the identification and assessment of students with special educational needs. • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). • Work closely with subject leaders and teachers to ensure SEN students are fully supported in the classroom. • Provide advice and training to staff on best practices for supporting students with additional needs. • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture where all students can thrive. Who We’re Looking For: • A qualified teacher with a strong background in SEN and a passion for supporting students with additional needs. • A leadership mindset with excellent organizational and communication skills. • Experience working as a SENCO or in a leadership role within SEN. • A commitment to maintaining high standards and providing the best educational experience for all students. • An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
