Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Design Technology ECT to join an Outstanding school in Colchester . As a Design Technology Teacher , you will teach across KS3, KS4 and KS5 , delivering an ambitious curriculum that balances theory with high-quality practical work. This is a superb opportunity for a Newly Qualified DT Teacher to develop confidently within a structured and highly supportive ECT programme. The department is well equipped with modern workshops, strong technical support and excellent leadership. Students show high levels of engagement and GCSE/A-Level outcomes are consistently strong. Design Technology ECT Outstanding graded school in Colchester MPS1 Salary (ECT Scale) Full-Time Design Technology ECT position Design Technology role starting in January School Information The School is a respected 11–18 co-educational school with excellent behaviour, strong leadership and a clear commitment to staff development. ECTs receive high-quality mentoring, reduced teaching loads, regular observations and structured CPD to ensure a confident and successful start to their teaching career. Experience and Qualifications Degree in Design Technology or related discipline PGCE with QTS Training to teach DT to KS3–KS5 Strong organisational and classroom management skills Commitment to practical safety and high standards of teaching Salary The salary for this Design Technology ECT position will be paid to scale in line with MPS1 .
