Job description
Role Category & Location Sector: Well-regarded Local Authority Primary School. Location: Manchester (North West, England). Start Date: Permanent, full-time role commencing January 2026. The Opportunity & Role Profile This busy primary school requires a proactive and practical Site Manager (Premises Manager) to oversee the operational management, maintenance, and security of its campus. The role demands strong organisational skills and a focus on maintaining a high-quality, safe environment for younger pupils. Core Responsibilities & Scope Operational Organiser: Overseeing daily premises schedules, managing key holder responsibilities, and coordinating energy efficiency. Maintenance Lead: Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance, supervising external contractors, and performing hands-on repairs where required. Safety Sentinel: Conducting statutory safety checks and ensuring the site meets rigorous health and safety standards specific to the primary environment. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Proven experience in premises or site management, strong practical maintenance skills, and a commitment to working in a child-centred setting. Salary Range: Highly competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £33,000 - £40,000 per annum). Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and supportive leadership.
