Some pupils require full-day support, while others benefit from targeted intervention sessions during lessons or structured activities. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: Providing individualised support to pupils with SEN to help them access learning Working alongside teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet pupil needs Implementing strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour management Encouraging social skills, positive interactions, and communication Assisting with transitions between lessons, activities, and unstructured periods Supervising pupils at break and lunchtimes Monitoring pupil progress and recording observations Providing feedback to teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists Supporting personal care needs when necessary, with dignity and sensitivity Promoting independence while offering structured guidance Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment The Ideal Candidate The school is seeking someone who is: Patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient Passionate about supporting children with additional needs Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of pupils A strong communicator and collaborative team player Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviours or additional emotional needs Previous experience in a school or SEN setting is desirable, but applicants with experience in care, youth work, mental health support, or behaviour support are also encouraged to apply if they are committed and enthusiastic.
