Job description
A busy Lambeth primary requires a reliable and proactive Premises Officer to join the site team on a full-time contract starting January 2026. The successful Premises Officer will be responsible for keeping the school buildings secure, clean and compliant, and for ensuring that the learning environment is safe and welcoming from January 2026. The Premises Officer will be expected to take part in pre-start briefings before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be fully operational from January 2026 as the Premises Officer. School snapshot • Popular Lambeth state primary with busy site and high community use — ideal for an experienced Premises Officer. • Modern and historic spaces requiring attentive site care; the Premises Officer will be supported by a small maintenance team. • Strong safeguarding culture and clear operational procedures that the Premises Officer will help uphold from January 2026. Premises Officer Responsibilities • The Premises Officer will complete daily site checks, opening and locking procedures, and routine health & safety rounds as the Premises Officer. • The Premises Officer will carry out minor repairs, co-ordinate contractors and ensure site compliance as the Premises Officer. • The Premises Officer will support lettings, maintain records and manage stock for cleaning and maintenance as the Premises Officer. The Premises Officer will prepare documentation and attend the January 2026 induction and training sessions scheduled in January 2026. Premises Officer Requirements • Proven experience as a Premises Officer or similar facilities role. • Awareness of H&S, basic DIY skills and the ability to liaise with contractors. • A flexible approach to hours and the ability to start the position in January 2026. The Premises Officer must be available for pre-start meetings prior to January 2026, the induction in January 2026, and to take up duties from January 2026. Why apply? This Lambeth role offers a supportive leadership team, competitive pay and the chance for the Premises Officer to develop skills in a busy school environment. If you are organised, hands-on and ready to start in January 2026, please apply. To be considered for this Premises Officer position, please forward an up-to-date version of your CV.
