Job description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Year 1 Teacher to join our vibrant, good-rated 2-form entry primary school in Barking , starting in May 2025 ! This is a full-time, permanent role where you’ll have the opportunity to inspire, challenge, and nurture Year 1 students as they take their first exciting steps in their educational journey. What You’ll Be Doing Creating exciting lessons : Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that foster a love for learning in Year 1 students, covering literacy, numeracy, and creative subjects. Supporting development : Help young learners develop key skills and confidence as they transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1. Creating a positive classroom : Build a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Tracking progress : Assess student progress regularly, provide meaningful feedback, and set clear goals to help each child grow and succeed. Collaborating with colleagues : Work closely with other teachers and staff to share best practices and deliver an inspiring and well-rounded curriculum. Communicating with parents : Maintain strong relationships with parents, keeping them updated on their child’s progress and addressing any concerns. Engaging in professional development : Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to continue developing your skills as an educator. Who We’re Looking For A qualified Year 1 Teacher with experience or a passion for working with younger students. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. A good understanding of the National Curriculum and how to deliver effective lessons in Year 1. A team player who loves to collaborate and share creative ideas. A positive and friendly communicator who can build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
