Job description
An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Milton Keynes is seeking a dynamic and skilled Music Teacher to join its successful department from April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach within a school that values innovation, strong academic standards, and high-quality enrichment provision. Music is an important and well-supported subject within the curriculum, with strong uptake at KS4 and opportunities at KS5. The department integrates performance, composition, music technology, and theory into a cohesive and engaging programme of study. The Role Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Delivering engaging lessons that balance practical performance with academic rigour Supporting GCSE and A Level coursework and examination preparation Leading ensembles, rehearsals, and extracurricular activities Supporting whole-school productions and performance events Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted intervention strategies Contributing to curriculum refinement and departmental development The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Music or closely related field Experience teaching Music at secondary level Strong subject knowledge across performance and theory High expectations for pupil engagement and behaviour A professional, creative, and organised teaching approach This Milton Keynes secondary school is known for its structured systems, supportive leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement.
