Job description
Greenwich, London £90 – £100 per day (pro-rata) | Part-time | Long-term with potential for permanency Monday–Friday, approx. 8:30am–15:30pm (term time only) Start: ASAP Some of the youngest children in our care don’t need grand gestures — they need warmth, gentleness, and a familiar face who makes their environment feel safe, nurturing, and full of opportunities to explore. We’re working with a welcoming and supportive Early Years setting in Greenwich that is seeking a calm, reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Baby Room team. The setting prides itself on creating a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels cared for — especially our babies, who are at a key stage of early development and emotional security. The babies are curious, expressive, and developing their own little personalities. They need adults who can support their routines, encourage early communication and play, and help create a safe, loving atmosphere. This is a setting where staff work closely together, value each other, and celebrate every small moment of growth. Key Responsibilities • Support babies with routines such as feeding, nappy changing, and sleep • Engage children in sensory and exploratory play • Build secure, positive relationships that support early communication and emotional wellbeing • Maintain a calm, nurturing atmosphere tailored to each baby’s needs • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children in your care • Work collaboratively with the EYFS team to deliver high-quality early years provision What the Setting Offers • A caring, collaborative Early Years team • Training in safeguarding, EYFS practice, routine care, and early communication • Support from experienced leaders who prioritise staff and child wellbeing • A friendly, valued working environment This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who: • Loves working with babies and supporting their early development • Is warm, patient, and confident caring for very young children • Can remain calm, gentle, and consistent • Has experience in nurseries, early years settings, childcare, or similar roles • Is looking for a rewarding part-time role during the school day If this EYFS Teaching Assistant (Baby Room) position sounds right for you, please apply today or contact Wayman Education for more information.
