Job description
Lead a passionate team and inspire a love of art as Head of Art in our outstanding Newham school! We are looking for an empowering and experienced leader to head our vibrant Art department. You will champion a student-centered approach, fostering a culture of experimentation, skill development, and artistic appreciation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Art department. Inspire and motivate both students and staff within the department. Develop and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies in Art. Ensure high standards of assessment and feedback in Art. Promote the profile of Art within the school and wider community. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Degree in Fine Art or a related subject. Extensive experience teaching Art at secondary level, with demonstrable leadership impact. Proven ability to inspire and motivate students and staff in the Art subject. Strong understanding of current artistic practices and educational best practices. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
