Full-time, Permanent - April 2025 Start Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Drama with a desire to ignite a love of theatre and performance in young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Drama department in a prestigious independent school in Richmond. About the School: Our school is a leading independent school with a strong commitment to providing a well-rounded education that fosters intellectual curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. We offer a stimulating and supportive environment where students are encouraged to explore their artistic talents, experiment with different theatrical styles, and develop their appreciation for the performing arts. About the Drama Department: The Drama department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for fostering students' creativity, confidence, and performance skills. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of dramatic genres and techniques, from improvisation and devising to script work and physical theatre. We encourage students to participate in school productions and drama festivals, providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents and develop their stage presence. About the Role: Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities. Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including workshops, rehearsals, and performances, to bring Drama to life for students. Direct and produce school productions, providing students with opportunities to participate in all aspects of theatre production. Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys. Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Drama curriculum remains relevant and challenging. Foster a love of Drama in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity and develop their performance skills. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Drama education. Ideal Candidate: Holds QTS or equivalent. Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Drama. Demonstrates a passion for teaching Drama and a commitment to student success. Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills. Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Drama and relevant examination specifications. Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
