Assistant SENCO – Nurturing Primary School – Havering – ASAP Start 📍 Location: Havering 📅 Start Date: ASAP 📄 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent 💰 Salary: Dependent on Experience Are you an experienced SEN professional with a passion for supporting students in their educational journey? A nurturing primary school in Havering is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant SENCO to join their team ASAP . Your Role as Assistant SENCO: 🔹 Support the SENCO in managing and coordinating the school’s SEN provision, ensuring that the needs of all students are met. 🔹 Help assess and identify students with SEN , working closely with teachers and support staff to implement tailored interventions. 🔹 Assist in the development, monitoring, and review of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) for students with more complex needs. 🔹 Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential. 🔹 Support teachers with differentiation in lessons and provide guidance on best practices for inclusive teaching. 🔹 Help track and monitor progress , ensuring interventions are effective and that students are progressing in their learning. 🔹 Build positive relationships with parents, carers , and external agencies to ensure that the needs of students are met and progress is communicated effectively. 🔹 Assist with SEN-related administrative tasks , such as updating records and preparing reports. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Experience working in a SEN support role (Teaching Assistant, SENCo Assistant, or similar). ✅ A passion for supporting children’s learning and development in an inclusive and nurturing environment. ✅ Strong organisational and communication skills , with the ability to work effectively with teachers, staff, and parents. ✅ A good understanding of the SEN Code of Practice , EHCP processes , and the types of interventions that support children with SEN. ✅ Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to supporting students with diverse needs. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
