Job description
A thriving and forward-thinking secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Music Teacher to join their Performing Arts department from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher who is passionate about nurturing creativity, developing performance skills, and engaging students through a diverse and exciting music curriculum. The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping both classroom learning and the wider cultural life of the school. Key Details • Full-time, permanent Music Teacher position starting January 2026 • High-performing secondary school in Bournemouth with a strong creative reputation • Join a vibrant Performing Arts team with excellent extracurricular opportunities • Opportunities to contribute to concerts, musicals, and community events Experience and Qualifications • Qualified Music Teacher with QTS (PGCE or equivalent) • Ability to deliver high-quality Music lessons across KS3–KS5 desirable • Strong knowledge of performance, composition, and music theory • Enthusiasm for leading ensembles, choirs, and orchestras within the extracurricular programme • Excellent classroom management skills with high expectations for achievement and behaviour • A team player with excellent communication, organisational, and collaborative skills • Legal right to work in the UK School Information • Ofsted Good with Outstanding features, praised for its Performing Arts provision and commitment to creativity • Excellent facilities including a dedicated performance hall, fully equipped rehearsal rooms, and a modern recording studio • A rich culture of music, with regular concerts, talent showcases, and opportunities for students to perform in the wider community • Supportive senior leadership team who prioritise teacher development, wellbeing, and career progression • Enthusiastic, motivated students who respond well to creative teaching approaches and thrive in a positive learning environment • Strong links with local arts organisations and opportunities to expand community engagement Salary • Paid to scale on MPS / UPS Application • To be considered for this Music Teacher role, please forward an updated CV as soon as possible.
