Job description
An outstanding secondary school in Bath is seeking an ambitious and experienced Lead Teacher of Science to join its high-performing department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner to take on a key leadership role within a school known for its academic excellence, exemplary behaviour, and supportive leadership. Science is a core strength of the school, with consistently strong outcomes across KS3, KS4, and KS5 and a clear commitment to delivering an ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum. The Role Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on specialism Leading on teaching and learning within the Science department Supporting curriculum development and assessment strategies Coaching and mentoring colleagues to drive high standards Using data effectively to raise attainment and close gaps Contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in a Science subject or closely related field Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level A strong track record of excellent classroom practice Experience supporting colleagues or leading initiatives within a department High expectations for pupil achievement and professional standards School Information This outstanding school in Bath is recognised for its exceptional academic outcomes, strong pastoral care, and culture of high expectations.
