Job description
Location: Peterborough Start Date: January 2026 Salary: Paid to scale on MPS An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Geography ECT to begin their teaching career in a forward-thinking secondary school in Peterborough. This supportive and well-managed school is seeking a motivated Geography Early Career Teacher to teach KS3 and KS4, working with curious, enthusiastic pupils who respond well to creative and enquiry-based learning. The School The Geography department is well resourced with specialist classrooms, digital mapping software, structured fieldwork opportunities and strong curriculum leadership. Pupils achieve consistently strong outcomes in Geography, and the subject is well supported within the wider Humanities faculty. ECTs benefit from a highly structured induction programme with weekly mentor meetings, lesson observations, reduced teaching load and continuous professional development. Staff describe the school culture as positive, collaborative and development-driven with strong pastoral systems and clear behaviour expectations.
