Job description
An Outstanding Primary School in Putney is seeking an experienced and inspiring Year 2 Teacher to join a warm, high-achieving KS1 team. This is a Full-Time Year 2 Teacher post with a January 2026 start, offering an opportunity to join a school celebrated for excellent teaching and pastoral care. The successful Year 2 Teacher will begin formal duties in January 2026 and will be supported throughout induction in January 2026 and beyond. Role summary The Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver creative, rigorous lessons that build strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics. As a Year 2 Teacher , you will be part of a year-group that values collaborative planning, reflective practice and high expectations. The Year 2 Teacher will foster independence, reasoning and resilience through structured sequences and engaging projects. From January 2026 , the Year 2 Teacher will lead a class of curious learners and contribute to whole-school initiatives across the Spring term. Key responsibilities The Year 2 Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons. The Year 2 Teacher will assess progress, use formative feedback and adapt teaching accordingly. The Year 2 Teacher will establish strong classroom routines that promote confidence and independence. The Year 2 Teacher will liaise with parents, report on progress and participate in school events. The Year 2 Teacher will design engaging cross-curricular projects and lead small-group interventions. The ideal Year 2 Teacher is reflective, creative, and confident in using assessment to accelerate progress. Experience with phonics, early maths mastery and pupil wellbeing is desirable. Start & practical information This Full-Time Year 2 Teacher vacancy begins January 2026 .
