Job description
A leading independent senior school in Islington with a formidable reputation for scientific excellence seeks a highly capable Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Physics for January 2026. Responsibilities Teach rigorous Physics lessons from Key Stage 3 to GCSE, with a focus on mathematical application and fundamental problem-solving. Participate in a meticulously planned ECT induction program tailored to develop specialist subject pedagogy. Utilise the provided ECT reduced timetable to observe senior staff and refine personal classroom practice. Collaborate closely with the Science department to ensure continuity and progression in the curriculum delivery up to GCSE. Support the school's commitment to outstanding academic results and scientific excellence. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) attained by December 2025 (or currently in your first year of induction - ECT1), and a strong degree in Physics (or a highly relevant Engineering/Applied Science subject). A clear understanding of the demands of a selective academic environment and the capacity to meet them. Seeking a professional Physics Teacher who is organised, results-oriented, and an excellent communicator. Commitment to contributing to the extracurricular life of the school, particularly STEM outreach or academic societies.
