Job description
A thriving secondary school in Peterborough is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Business Teacher to join its Business and Economics Department. This is a full-time, permanent role, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about delivering high-quality business education and inspiring students to succeed. The Business Department is well-resourced and offers a broad curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities for Key Stage 5 teaching in Business Studies, Economics, and enterprise-related subjects. The department encourages creativity, critical thinking, and real-world application of knowledge. The Role The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging Business lessons across Key Stages 3–5, preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations. Responsibilities include: Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in Business, Economics, and related subjects. Encouraging independent thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of business concepts. Preparing students for examinations and supporting assessment and coursework requirements. Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student progress. Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning. Supporting enrichment opportunities such as business clubs, competitions, and enterprise projects. Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Strong subject knowledge in Business Studies and related areas. Excellent classroom management and organisational skills. Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues.
