Job description
Our client, a highly regarded independent 11–18 day school in Exeter, is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable and inspiring Science Teacher to join their thriving Science Department ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exceptional opportunity to teach within a school renowned for academic excellence, strong pastoral care and a modern, forward-thinking approach to education. • Science Teacher required – full-time, permanent • Prestigious Independent School in Exeter • Modern laboratories and excellent practical resources • Opportunity to contribute to a dynamic STEM programme • ASAP start The successful Science Teacher will deliver Science across KS3–KS5, with the opportunity to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics at A Level depending on expertise. You will design and deliver engaging, enquiry-driven lessons that promote scientific curiosity, analytical thinking and intellectual independence. Students are academically ambitious and highly motivated, with many progressing to competitive university courses in Medicine, Engineering, Natural Sciences and related disciplines. The department places strong emphasis on practical investigation, critical evaluation of evidence and application of theory to real-world contexts. Beyond classroom teaching, there is scope to contribute to STEM enrichment initiatives including science clubs, Olympiad preparation, research projects, academic societies and interdisciplinary events. Experience and Qualifications • QTS/PGCE and a degree in a Science-related discipline • Experience teaching GCSE and A Level Science desirable • Excellent subject knowledge and confidence with practical science • Strong communication and organisational skills • Commitment to co-curricular involvement and holistic education About the School This independent school in Exeter successfully balances tradition with innovation, offering a broad and academically rigorous curriculum within a supportive community.
