Job description
Caretaker – Outstanding Secondary School – Cambridge Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Cambridge is known for its excellent academic performance, modern facilities, and well-maintained campus. The school serves a thriving and ambitious community and maintains high expectations across all operational areas. The campus includes specialist teaching buildings, sports facilities, and administrative offices. Leadership prioritises health and safety, site security, and a safe learning environment for all students and staff. To support the continued upkeep of the school site, the school is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker. Role Overview The Caretaker will ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained. Key responsibilities include: Opening and closing the school site Conducting routine maintenance tasks Monitoring health and safety compliance Managing minor repairs Overseeing site cleanliness Supporting contractors on site Conducting regular safety inspections Responding to emergency call-outs when required Supporting school events Maintaining site security The role requires practical skills and strong organisational ability. Site Team The Caretaker works alongside the Site Manager and facilities team. Clear maintenance schedules and procedures are in place. Candidate Requirements Experience in site maintenance or caretaking Basic repair and maintenance skills Knowledge of health and safety regulations Ability to work independently Strong organisational skills Reliability and punctuality Commitment to safeguarding Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
