Job description
English Teacher Opportunity | Vibrant PRU | Merton Role: English Teacher Nature: Full-Time, Permanent Start: ASAP or September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance An exciting and dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Merton is seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students who have faced challenges in mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve their full potential. Role Highlights: Teach inspiring and engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students Differentiate and adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of students with SEMH and additional learning needs Build positive and trusting relationships with students, fostering a supportive learning environment Work closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to education Encourage students’ personal and academic development through creative and tailored teaching methods Contribute to the inclusive and nurturing ethos of the PRU Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 A passion for working with students in an alternative provision or PRU setting (experience preferred but not essential) Strong behavior management skills and a patient, empathetic approach Ability to motivate and inspire students who require additional support Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
