Job description
About the School An Outstanding and inclusive 11–18 school in Dorset is seeking a highly skilled SENCO to lead their SEND provision from January 2026. The school has 1,200 students, including a Sixth Form of 250, and is celebrated for its holistic approach to education, balancing academic success with personal wellbeing. With a Progress 8 score of +0.55 and national recognition for its pastoral care, this is an ideal environment for a leader passionate about inclusion and student development. About the Role This full-time, permanent leadership position involves overseeing all aspects of SEND provision, including EHCP management, intervention coordination, and staff training. You will lead a team of Learning Support Assistants and collaborate closely with teachers, senior leaders, and external specialists to ensure every student reaches their full potential. The school’s inclusion facilities include sensory spaces, assistive technology, and a dedicated support centre designed to foster independence and confidence. The SENCO will also have the opportunity to shape whole-school policy and lead on inclusive teaching strategies that align with the school’s values of respect, equality, and excellence.
